1. Page vs Post

First, you should understand the difference between a post and a page.
a. A page is an information page, the content of a page shouldn’t change much (for example: ‘About Us’ page).

b. A post is almost like an article. Each day, you get new articles in the newspaper. Similarly, a post should contain a specific event/news.

To find out more on the differences between a page and a post. You can read it here

Only, administrator and editor can publish/delete/edit/manage pages. If you privilege level is set to Author or Contributor, you will only be able to create posts.

2. Writing a Post

The interface should be quite intuitive.
- Write your title
- Write your content
- Select the appropriate category (Note: This is important. Otherwise, our code will not be able to pick your post and place it under the right category).

2.1 Space and newline

Note: I have disabled visual editor (eg gmail rich text editor) because it gives very little control and messes up formatting if you switch back and forth from/to visual and html mode.

Wordpress eliminates multiple spaces (even if you enter 10 spaces while writing posts, it will only contain one space and removes the multiple spaces from the output, see the images below).

Output:

Similarly, WordPress also eliminates multiple newlines (even if you enter 10 spaces while writing posts, it will only contain one space and removes the multiple spaces from the output, see the images below).
Writing input:
Output:

thus, we have to use the following tags to force multiple spaces or multiple newlines

Space
- tags: & nbsp ; (Note: without spaces between them)
- See the example images below:
Writing input:
Output:

Newline: < br clear = " all " > (Note: without spaces between ” all “)
- tags:
- See the example images below:
Writing input:
Output:

2.2 Inserting Facebook images

If you want to put up images/videos that you can find on facebook.
DO NOT UPLOAD the image from your computer.

- Find the image on facebook
- Right click ‘Copy Image Location’
- Then click Add An Image from the posting selection (Paste the URL and type in the title).

2.3 Category Hierachy

Certain categories have parents, if you select a post as a child category, the parent category will be affected too (confused? read more).

For example, The parent category of Belgrave is Event.
- If you write a post on Belgrave and tick ‘Belgrave‘ as the category,
- It will appear under ‘Latest Update‘ on Belgrave specific site
- As well as ‘Latest Event’ on the front page and the Event page.

The full category hierarchy looks like this:
- Sermon
- Event (child category: July Camp, Belgrave, E-Night)
- News (child category: Sport)
- Prayer

3. Content

- Consider if the content is helpful (ie. don’t write anything blasphemous!)
- Consider if the content is relevant to the audience. (ie. don’t write about desperate housewives)
- Humour is welcomed but not excessively (this is not a joke website)
- Be tactful and be creative :D
